About

Innovation Factors is a boutique management consultancy focussed on helping organisations build their innovation capacity.

Philosophy

We're not going to tell you the future or show you how to predict it.

We're going to enable you to make strategic moves toward competitive advantage through innovation (and to create a whole load of fulfilment along the way.)

We will enable your organisation's innovation capabilities so you can lead your own future.

Values

Insight without attitude.

Our work is research led. We will seek conclusions and communicate them. But we bring an open mindset and a friendly collaborative approach.

Quality and clarity.

We aim for laser focus on the crucial issues. But sometimes innovation requires an intuitive understanding of subtle interactions. We create rich, high quality output with clarity to keep complex messages actionable and effective.

Profiles

Levi | Founder and Innovation Lead

Levi started Innovation Factors because, in many organisations trying to innovate, he saw a gap between aspiration and execution.

An MBA with distinction from Warwick culminated in a research and consultancy dissertation in achieving growth through innovation, which finished in the top 2% of submissions for the cohort.

The research during this period led to the creation of models offered through Innovation Factors.

Levi is a director at the oldest working quarry in the UK. Firmly rooted in tradition, the business still has a full pipeline of innovations pushing through various stage-gates.

Levi enjoys finding boundaries to push, which has led him to over 60 countries for work, study and leisure. (He’s often awol in the Alps mountaineering with Tomi, and was once seen in a cave in Moldova with a consulting client.)

Pedro | Technology

A career tech-project consultant, Pedro has led the build and re-hauls of websites for several FTSE companies.

An academic background in IT and experience with consultancies such as Tata Consulting enable Pedro to see the big technological picture.

On the quiet, Pedro is a licensee and he's building a small business in alcoholic beverage sales. He’s also rediscovering his surfing roots as digital work patterns mean he’s getting back to Cornwall more and more often.

Rob | IP / M+A

The M+A adviser who went solo.

A masters in electrical engineering then a law degree initiated Rob as a corporate lawyer. He led major multinational mergers and acquisitions in his corporate life with the likes of SAB Miller.

Now Rob helps startups find their feet in new global markets through his consultancy The Business Growth Lab.

He assists Innovation Factors with intellectual property issues, M+A and startup guidance.

Rob enjoys time out with his kids, and set up an online magazine franchise that reviews “good days out” in the locale.

Henry | Ed-Tech

Henry trained to be a teacher 15 years ago and taught in primary schools reaching leadership positions in literacy.

He later co-founded a consulting and media sharing ed-tech business which grew to connect users across over 100 countries. The web-based model, designed to improve global literacy, won several start-up awards, and is now a well-known brand in the competitive ed-tech space. Henry is also an early-stage board advisor for other education start-ups who seek his input.

Henry still teaches a little to keep his hand in. And when he finds spare time, he enjoys running and football - he’s completed several marathons for charity and is always planning the next one.

James | Digital Marketing Innovation

James is a specialist in driving business growth through digital channels.

A masters in Anthropology from Cambridge (with distinction) led to an early career as a financial journalist. Later James moved into travel publishing and went on to assist with the digitisation projects of well known media brands. In the process he built deep knowledge of the digital marketing frontier.

Standing out from the online crowd is a challenge James enjoys, and he project consults part time, outside of his main role at a fast growth London-based start-up.

James still does a little freelance travel writing and also knows a thing or two about Caribbean rums.

Tomi | Sustainable Innovation and Finance

A previous global corporate banking executive who foresees a Kuhnian shift on the sustainability horizon.

A masters in Finance, then a CSR pathway MBA with distinction informed his shift to advising global strategic funds on sustainability and financial mechanism innovation. Tomi helps us with high-level green oversight.

Originally from Finland, Tomi can cycle further and faster than you, and has been known to disappear for days into the alpine haute montagne (often on a rope with Levi).
